Is Mint free?
The app and local voice are free. Bring your own Gemini key or eligible ChatGPT connection. Provider subscriptions, API usage and optional ElevenLabs may cost money; account limits apply. No AI credits are included.
Can I use my ChatGPT subscription?
Yes, through your own eligible account and separately installed OpenCode V2. Select OpenAI account in Connection and sign in. Mint lists enabled supported chat models, but actual eligibility and limits depend on OpenAI/OpenCode and your account. No particular GPT model or plan is guaranteed. A subscription is not API credits.
Where do I get a Gemini API key?
Create your own key at Google AI Studio, then enter it in Mint → Connection. Never post keys in chat or here. Google availability, billing and limits apply. Gemini does not need OpenCode.
Is everything private and offline?
No. Your workspace is local, but live messages and attachments go to your selected provider. Desktop plans are text-only and validated locally. OpenCode stores ChatGPT login; its service and provider logs may apply. Local voice processes audio on-device; optional cloud voice has separate consents. Read privacy details.
Can Gemini control my whole computer?
No unrestricted control. Both connections support allowlisted launches, new text files/simple drawings and graceful Chrome-window close. Ask first is the new-user default. No arbitrary commands, deletion, unrestricted reads, force quits or dismissing prompts. Live lookups are account-only.
Can I use Mint on a Mac or phone?
Mint is Windows x64 only. No macOS, Linux, ARM or mobile build is offered here.
