A LITTLE MORE CLARITY
Privacy, without the mystery
Last updated: 14 October 2026. This describes the website and public Mint edition, not the separate policies of OpenAI, OpenCode, Google, ElevenLabs or hosting providers.
This website
The site's own code contains no analytics, advertising trackers, tracking cookies, contact forms or account/key collection. Cloudflare may process IP addresses, requests and security logs. Downloading the public release sends requests to GitHub and its delivery services.
Your Windows workspace
Mint stores chats, notes, attachments and preferences locally in its Windows user profile. Exports contain this data, so treat them as private files. The app doesn't upload your workspace to this website.
Gemini is not offline
If you choose Gemini, your own API key is required. Messages, relevant history and attachments go to Google. Google's availability, quotas, billing, retention and data-use terms apply; free-tier terms may differ. No shared account or developer key is included.
Your ChatGPT account through OpenCode V2
If you choose account mode, separately installed OpenCode V2 handles your own ChatGPT sign-in and stores login credentials. Mint activates only a locally signed-in OAuth account; it does not export its tokens or share the developer's account. Connecting makes that account active in OpenCode. Messages/history and attached images go to OpenAI; OpenAI and OpenCode limits, logs and retention apply. A listed model is not a guarantee of account eligibility.
Image replies use a temporary OpenCode session with tool permissions denied, removed after the reply on a best-effort basis. This does not erase provider/service logs. Account-only web searches send query keywords to your OpenCode search provider; weather city queries go to Open-Meteo. No automatic location tracking. Gemini has no live lookups. There is no automatic provider fallback.
Limited desktop actions
Simple supported app/site launches and Chrome-close requests are matched locally. Other supported requests send a short text-only planning prompt to the selected provider: Google via your Gemini key, or OpenAI via your OpenCode account. Planning can consume usage. Image pixels and attached-file bodies are not sent to desktop planners. This does not change normal image/chat sharing.
Plans are validated and executed on your PC using Mint's fixed action allowlist. Ask first is the default for new public profiles. Automatic mode, if you explicitly select it, can open windows and create new files without per-action approval. No arbitrary commands, deletion, unrestricted file reads, force-quitting or security changes are supported. Files go into Documents → Mint Chat Creations without overwriting existing files.
Voice
Free local recognition/speech process audio on your computer. Setup downloads the fixed components from GitHub and Hugging Face after explicit consent. Setup itself does not record a microphone or upload chat text/audio. Local temporary recognition files are removed on a best-effort basis.
Recognized turns go to your selected AI provider for replies. Optional ElevenLabs recognition uploads completed recordings only after separate audio consent; cloud speech sends reply text after separate text-sharing consent. Their billing and retention terms apply.
During voice replies the mic stays active for local interruption detection. Passive monitoring is discarded; detected speech becomes the next turn. Pause or End releases the microphone. Noise filtering does not identify a speaker.
Credentials
Remembered Gemini and optional ElevenLabs keys use Windows-protected encrypted storage and are excluded from workspace exports. Unsaved keys stay in the current window's memory. Never enter keys into this website or a chat. No credentials from the developer's personal installation are included in downloads.
Manage your data
Use Mint's data settings to back up or delete conversations and provider controls to forget remembered keys. Deleting a chat doesn't necessarily remove exports, provider logs or other services' records. Uninstalling Mint does not automatically delete its separate Windows user profile, encrypted keys or downloaded local voice components.
